In a food processor grind together the almonds and the granulated sugar until the almonds are ground medium-fine, transfer the mixtrue to a large bowl, and stir in the egg whites, the baking powder, the zest, and the honey, stirring until the dough is combined well. Working with rounded Tbl. of the dough, work the dough briefly with the fingertips and drop it in irregular spikey mounds 1 inch apart onto greased an lightly floured baking sheets. Bake the cookies in batches in the middle of a preheated 300 degrees F. oven for 25 minutes, or until they are golden. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for three minutes, transfer them to racks, and sift the confectioners` sugar over them. Makes about 24 cookies.
